|There are many wild animals, but not so many as dagerous as the crocodile|
I am now and then visiting a second hand shop called Bruktbo, with this blog. There you can find treasures of many kinds, almost for free. I found this colouring book there not long ago;Jenny, who was a little girl in 1950, was the owner and colourist. The colouring is very weak, may be it was because she wanted to use as little of her crayons as possible, in order to let the last for a long time? I can see that she has used a redbluepencil; we also had pencils like that at school, they were red in one end, and blue in the other, and if you put say the red end into your mouth, and sucked a little on it, the red became more intense, and would be perfect when you were drawing ladies with lipstickmouths. I can see that Jenny used the same tecnique, becase the lips, and the teeth of the crocodile, are all very, very red (and dagerous). Some of the picture could not have been presented in a book for children to day; I am especially thinking of the picture with the little black child, stark naked, but oblivious of the fact.
